    The firmware would be open source, feel free to add new features.

    The USB connection is configured as mass storage, need to look into it later.

    We are keep looking for bigger onboard flash, 2MB small but OK for most usages.

    The FPGA is not decided yet, we will release the scheme and PCB file when everything is finalized.

  4. The overclocking is great news, as is the second digital probe.

    I too am also curious if the digital probes will be bi-directional. I suspect not, but it would be cool if it had some logic analyzer protocols supported. Asking too much? Maybe. But it would be cool.

    The scope has minimal flash onboard for data capture; will the usb connection be usable for data capture? I got the impression from one of the threads that this may be true. Just need confirmation.

  5. If the overclocking works, no problem. I guess there will be only slightly less effective bits for vertical resolution, which given the size of display should be OK. Rigol did (and maybe still does) the same. So it looks like the scope will be good to measure up to 10 MHz signal. Can you provide any test screenshots at that speed (sine,square)?

    I have couple of questions:
    – Do you include both 1x and 10x probes, or are they switchable? What is the battery life? I wouldn’t mind having larger capacity with longer runtime.
    – Are the digital channels and signal generator both input and output or just one way? The latter would be great for serial interface monitoring/debugging/controlling stuff…
    – And last will there be option for larger serial flash (USB disk), at least 4 MB, the price difference is small, they are really cheap (esp. the SST/Microchip) and would improve the scope greatly. Of course MicroSD would be even better but it’s not there.

    Overall it looks great, this product has a lot of potential. Once you release the source and user app tutorial it will be selling in thousands 🙂

  6. Will the changes be in the pre-order batch? I noticed that you’ve increased the number of digital probes from 1 to 2, will this come with the pre-order batch?
