New products this week: New Arrivals
Electronics can be art – for maker
It’s time to show your geek attitude and maker talent. Being lovely and wearable, you can build 8 SQUARE from scratch. It’s not hard to be an engineer and artist, you can solder it, sew it, code it to make it your own electronic fashion. A detailed tutorial is provided to help you make a red heart bounce on the 8×8 LED matrix.
Making with children – for parents
8 SQUARE is an adorable kits to get started with electronics. We hosted several workshops during Maker Faire Shenzhen 2014. It’s a great gift to encourage children to DIY and explore on their own.
Arduino Compatible – for programmer
8 SQUARE features a classic Atmega328 as its processor. You can totally reprogram it as an Arduino UNO – the most widely adapted Arduino board for now. Thousands of tutorials and libraries over the community are easily found when you need help to support your next Arduino project with 8 SQUARE.
Easy to Solder – for engineer
8 SQUARE is friendly when it comes to soldering. Components chosen to fulfill the function are all easiest to solder and appropriate distance between each two pads is kept to ensure people without any soldering experience can get it run with only a little effort.
Friendly to Sewing – for artist
7 signal pins and 4 power pins are routed our as much larger circular pads along 8 SQUARE. They are designed for further exploration with fabric. The through hole of these signals are large enough to let you put through any regular needles and tie a knot to confirm the connection.
Stainless steel fibers are best materials for making wearable fashion. Sewing this strong but thin, oxidation resistant to your clothes, yarn can produce into different kind of electromagnetic shielding fabrics, and in producing permanent shielding and conductive products.
Seeeduino Stalker v3 is an Arduino compatible main board which has various functions. It’s an X-Bee carrier board while using with X-Bee modules, such as GPS Bee, Bluetooth Bee and Wifi Bee, etc. It’s a charger for Lipo while plugging a solar panel onto the board. Also, you can get time from the inside RTC chip, and all data can be easily stored through the SD card. In a word, Seeeduino Stalker v3 has an independent ecological system and it’s good for applications in outdoor environment.
Xadow – NFC Tag is a highly integrated Near Field Communication Tag module. Based on M24LR64E-R, it has a 64-bit unique identifier and 64 -Kbit EEPROM. Xadow – NFC Tag attach an independent PCB antenna which can easily stretch out of any enclosure you use, leaving more room for you to design the exterior of your project.
We have two mbed enabled products this week. mbed is the fastest way to create devices using ARM Microcontrollers. Click this link to signup mbed, then you will get the mbed online compiler.
Xadow M0 is an mbed enabled development board with Xadow form factor. It’s based on NXP LPC11U35 and designed for rapid prototyping. Xadow is a series of flexible electronic modules including sensors, displays and etc. Several Xadow modules can be cascaded to create interactive objects easily.
