RePhone Kit Create is an open source modular phone kit that changes the way we put our phone into use. It provides a new form of phone customization, and the easiest solution to wearable/IoT development. With Rephone you can create your own phone in minutes, by using the slim MODULES, accessible SOFTWARE, and customizable Phone Enclosures,

RePhone GSM + BLE features the world’s smallest System-on-Chip (SOC) for Wearables and Internet Of Things. It also comes with basic sensors, GPS, NFC and LEDs. It is our first ever Kickstarter campaign which 3,399 backers pledged $276,865 to help bring to life.

 

2. Wio Link

Wio Link is designed to simplify your IoT development. It is an ESP8266 based open-source Wi-Fi development board to create IoT applications by virtualizing plug-n-play modules to RESTful APIs with mobile APPs.

Wio Link provides simple visual configuration via mobile APPs. Drag and drop the sensor tags to certain pins then you can visually set up the hardware.It compiles firmware through cloud and can do OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware updates. It connects to the large library of Grove modules and provides basic IFTTT (if-this-then-that) applications for you to interact with friends through Seeed IFTTT Channel. It is our second Kickstarter campaign which 2,598 backers pledged $172,422 to help bring to life.

 

3. LinkIt Smart 7688 Duo

LinkIt Smart 7688 Duo is an open development board compatible with Arduino Yún sketches, based on the OpenWrt Linux distribution, MT7688 and ATmega32u4. The board is designed especially to enable the prototyping of Rich IoT Application for smart house or office. Since it is compatible with Arduino, this allows you to use different features from Arduino Yún and LinkIt Smart 7688 Duo, which will help you build rich applications based on various, robust and compiled Arduino Yún sketches. The board offers you the memory and packet storage to enable robust video processing. The platform also offers options to create device applications in Python, Node.js and C programming language. We also provide breakout and kit on Bazaar.

LinkIt Smart 7688 duo is a co-design product by Seeed Studio and MediaTek. 4. Genuino UNO_CN

Genuino is Arduino LLC new sister-brand created by co-founders Massimo Banzi, David Cuartielles, Tom Igoe and David Mellis for markets outside of the USA.Seeedstudio will manufacture and distribute Arduino LLC products using the new Genuino brand in China and other Asian markets. The new name certifies the authenticity of boards, in line with the open hardware and open source philosophy that has always characterized Arduino. Genuino and Arduino boards share the same components, characteristics and quality of manufacturing.

5. SeeedStudio BeagleBone Green

SeeedStudio BeagleBone Green (BBG) is a joint effort by BeagleBoard.org and Seeed Studio. It is based on the open-source hardware design of BeagleBone Black and developed into this differentiated version.

The BBG has included two Grove connectors, making it easier to connect to the large family of Grove sensors. It has also updated the 5V barrel to micro USB host. If you have any project of BBG, make sure to submit it on AWS IoT Mega challenge on Hackster.io which is due on 31th, Jan.

 

6.  GrovePi+ Starter Kit for Raspberry Pi

Carrying a GrovePi+ board together with 12 carefully selective Grove sensors with 10 pieces cables , this starter kit gets you up and running with the Raspberry Pi quickly. Just slip the GrovePi+ board over your Raspberry Pi and connect sensors to the board, you’re ready to start hardware playing and prototyping with the powerful platform.

About The GrovePi+, It is stacked on top of the Raspberry Pi without the need for any other connections. Communication between the two occurs over the I2C interface. All Grove modules connect to the universal Grove connectors on the GrovePi+ shield via the universal 4 pin connector cable.

 

7. Seeeduino Stalker v3

Seeeduino Stalker v3 is an Arduino compatible main board which has various functions. It’s an X-Bee carrier board while using with X-Bee modules, such as GPS Bee, Bluetooth Bee and Wifi Bee, etc. It’s a charger for Lipo while plugging a solar panel onto the board. Also, you can get time from the inside RTC chip, and all data can be easily stored through the SD card. In a word, Seeeduino Stalker v3 has an independent ecological system and it’s good for applications in outdoor environment.

8. RF Explorer 6G Combo

RF Explorer is a handheld digital spectrum analyzer, a very affordable tool for work in all popular frequency bands. It is based on a highly integrated frequency synthesizer and double balanced mixer which offers high performance, compact size, low consumption and low cost.
It has been designed to be used equally well outdoor and indoor, and can be connected to a PC for extra functionality using standard mini-USB 2.0 connector.
This model includes a 6G baseline unit plus an RFEMWSUB3G Expansion Module conveniently assembled and tested. It comes with two SMA connectors and three antennas: a nice Nagoya NA773 wideband telescopic antenna for all Sub-GHz frequencies, a rubber duck 5.8 GHz and a whip helical for 2.4GHz band. Additional, specific band antennas may be needed to cover efficiently some of the frequencies supported.
The combination of these two models offer coverage for most used communication frequency range used in modern communication technologies including WiFi, Bluetooth, Wireless Audio and Video, LTE, GSM, GPRS, Satellite, CATV, DTV, etc.

 

9. Xadow wearable kit for Edison

It Uses a 22nm Intel® SoC that includes a dual core, dual threaded Intel® Atom™ CPU at 500MHz and a 32-bit Intel® Quark™ microcontroller at 100 MHz.  It supports 40 GPIOs and includes 1GB LPDDR3, 4 GB EMMC, and dual-band WiFi and BTLE on a module. The Intel Edison module initially supports development with Arduino* and C/C++, followed by Node.JS, Python, RTOS, and Visual Programming support in the near future.

It includes a device-to-device and device-to-cloud connectivity framework to enable cross-device communication and a cloud-based, multi-tenant, time-series analytics service. It has an SD card connector, micro USB or standard sized USB host Type-A connector(via mechanical switch), Micro USB device, 6 analog inputs, and 20 ditial input/output pins, 1x UART, 1x I2C, and 1x ICSP 6-pin header (SPI) Power jack with 7V-15V DC input.

10. Crazyflie 2.0

The Crazyflie 2.0 is a versatile flying development platform that only weights 27g and fits in the palm of your hand. It’s advanced functionalities makes it ideal for developers and the Bluetooth LE capabilities makes it easy to fly from mobile devices. With it’s small size and weight it’s ideal for indoor use, but you can just as easily hover above your house as you can hover under your diningroom table. Designed as a solderless kit, the Crazyflie 2.0 is quickly assembled by attaching the motors to the circuitboard frame and it’s ready to fly.

The Crazyflie 2.0 is an open project, with source code and hardware design available and documented. The platform is designed with development in mind, implementing features to make development easier and faster, such as logging and real-time parameter setting and wireless firmware update. The complete development environment for most of the projects is available in the virtual machine, so you don’t need to install any toolchains to get into the development. But the virtual machine can just as well be used for flying. Aside from the firmware and software projects, there is also a number of community supported APIs written in Java, Ruby, C/C++, C# and Javascript. For anyone interested in doing more advanced development there is a development adapter kit that supports easy JTAG/SWD connection to both of the MCUs on the Crazyflie 2.0.

  1. Seeed has an Arduino Yun compatible board. Do you have a version of StandardFirmata that works on the Yun (all versions) and a Firmata_test program for Windows/Mac that words with the StandardFirmata for Yun?
