Is there any spare room in the housing to perhaps fit a MintyBoost PCB in there?
I think that if the battery charger/PCM ciruit makes sure that you either have (PCM brownout protection voltage) V to 3.6 V at normal output it would be safe (well within specification) to use that as the input voltage of a MintyBoost PCB in order to get an extra/optional 5V output from this micro-generator.
Being able to keep it in the same housing would be AWESOME but a small plastic container surrounding the housing and the MintyBoost PCB would probably work just as well. :-D
