Description

This is a multifunctional Arduino/Seeeduino/Arduino Mega compatible resistive touch screen. It can be used as display device or sketch pad.Compared with the previous version, 2.8’’TFT Touch Shield V1.0, we replaced the screen driver with a more professional chip, ILI9341 driver, providing different pin-saving SPI communication without sacrificing the data transmitting speed. Due to the communication method change, programs developed for the original version need modifications before being transplanted to the new version. With a SD card module integrated also on this shield, this shield reserves great room for other expansions to your project.

Ron, I read your question, then 10 minutes later I was kickin' around Github downloading libraries for this TFT screen and came across a possible solution for you. Easy enough to use, but you'll have to modify or write your own library for more capabilities such as landscape mode. My only real problem, and it's a big one, is that the shield physically occupies the entire board and covers up all of the pins.<p

Thought I had a solution. I bought a Sparkfun ScrewShield, inserted it BETWEEN my SainSmart UNO and the 2.8 TFT. Don't do that. Doesn't work! Makes an OK flashlight, but that's it. It may work if I can put the ScresShield BELOW the UNO. My Sainsmart UNO doesn't have long pins on the bottom so i can't test that theory now. Will have to wait till I get home and try on a REAL Arduino with long header pins. I'll report back later.

OK, here's my solution....Sparkfun Screwshield on bottom (Seeedstudio Screwshield should work, too), Arduino Pro stacked on Screwshield, then 2.8 TFT stacked on top of Arduino.  Programs fine.  I like the Arduino Pro because it has a battery connector.  Just plug my 3,7v LiPo battery in and I have a nice portable development platform.  Only caveat is that you must have long header pins on your Arduino.Keep inventing!

I am fairly new to this, so I decided to use this shield to make an interactive resistor calculator. I downloaded the libraries and figured out how to insert my own colors using HEX. But no matter how many combinations I try for Brown it always comes out looking blue or green. Any suggetsions?<br/><br/>
