RMEM2xI is a wireless dual channel occupancy detector module specially developed for the numerous fans of the Märklin and Trix model trains on the H0 scale C-tracks. The module is completely embedded in the body of the track and only few internal connections need to be made. There is no external wiring required. Your layout can be temporary or fixed, it can be on a table or even on the carpet. Using the RMEM2xI occupancy sensor module with the TRIX 2-rail system the PC controlling the layout can trace all locos, illuminated cars and resistor equipped axles on two adjacent rail sections. Using the Märklin 3-rail C-tracks the module will detect any non isolated axle on 2 adjacent rail sections. Up to 8 dual channel feedback modules can be hooked up to a wireless gateway which in turn will pass all occupancy messages to your MRR control PC. The gateway is a standard ESP8266 development module which just needs power. You can have up to 16 gateways connected to your PC using an of the shelve wireless router.
These occupancy sensors are fully compatible with the DIY wireless MRR sensors introduced in 2019 and 2020 in the German Model Railroad Elctronics magazine"DiMo - Digitale Modellbahn". This magazin wil publish an article about this specific embedded occupancy sensor in June 2020. More information, other wireless components, parts lists, firmware, schematics, etc. can be found on bahn-in-haan.de.
