PRODUCT DETAILS

Note

Please be aware that the J4105 processor has been discontinued, and therefore we will stop manufacturing ODYSSEY - X86J4105 in the near future. So now we bring you the new ODYSSEY - X86J4125 with the J4125 processor which is more powerful than J4105.

Tip

This version of ODYSSEY - Blue J4105 is pre-packed mini  PC with re_computer case. There is no onboard eMMC but is equipped with 128gb SSD. The Pre-installed Windows 10 Enterprise has not been activated.

Please note that when you have powered on but the fan does not rotate, it may be due to the following reasons.
1. The CPU itself does not have a temperature sensor. The temperature sensor is on the PCB, close to the CPU.
2. The temperature threshold set in the BIOS is based on the temperature of the PCB, not the temperature of the CPU.
3. There is a delay in the CPU temperature transfer to the PCB.
At this time, please try to let the CPU run at full load for 20 minutes.

    beautiful case
I usually use Mac, but there are times when I really need a Windows PC, and this product met my need: a reasonable price, and does not take much place. Plus, it has a truly beautiful case!

    works well for daily duties

It was time to change my old desktop and I decided to buy a Mini PC this time, which can be used at home, and also portable enough to be taken to my office. It works well for daily duties like sending emails or browsing some pages, and it can be widely used as home theaters or game console!

    Good for media center
It works great as a media center. But the reason why I leave this review is that I really like its design and color! I compare tons of Mini PC and this one is the one that looks less like a router.

Great machine, audio jack not so much
OK, I bought this machine as the console to my CNC router. I have it set up as dual boot via GRUB for Win10 Pro and Ubuntu. I almost exclusively use it in Ubuntu to run the CNCJS client and server. I threw in 16gb of RAM, and a 1TB Samsung EVO 970 SSD, and it runs like a champ. It's incredibly fast for what I need (I mean it's not Origin gaming PC, but this thing costs like a gamin keyboard). The machine is in a tough environment with dust raining down on it constantly. I figured worst case, it's a $240 PC, and if it dies it's a lot cheaper than having my MacBook Pro 16" sitting there driving the machine. The performance of this machine in Ubuntu 20 is very good (even forgetting about price), and this is a perfect desktop if you had kids that you're worried might trash a machine, since it's pretty inexpensive. Just note if you buy the windows activated this is windows 10 enterprise (not pro or home) which is a bit trickier to deal with as far as licensing. Only Seeed can activate the windows license for you unlike win10 where you could just go on the MS store and buy a license code. As far as putting ubuntu on it, it was trivial to throw the install image on a USB thumb drive and run the installer. Didn't need any weird drivers and it booted just fine. Note if you plan on doing just linux remember the internal drive is just a small SSD and you may want to do what I did and get a larger M2 SSD if you need to have disk space to store something. The case is easy to assemble and just note the top is magnetically held in place, if you want to put a regular SSD (2.5") laptop drive you need to get the extension for the case. One of the magnets popped out for me, but 1 drop of crazy-glue fixed that in 2 secs (make sure you know which side is up)

So what don't I like? Well the M2 SSD mount was really tight to get in there, but once I got it seated it was fine. The case is great. and so far it is remaining cool. I custom printed a pole-topper mount (why are the case holes not a standard VESA pattern???) which works great as well.. Now the audio jack doesn't seem to work (or at least doesn't work with 2 pairs of speakers I've tried). That's a pretty basic function (and others have noted the same issue). I am betting there is some issue as this is both the in and the out audio port, so if the alignment isn't perfect you get that where it can't tell which is in there - Mic vs. speaker). Anyway, not like you can hear music over the CNC (which sounds like a rabid beaver getting sucked through a tree-shredder when it's running) when it's running. I will also note that despite the "resume on power loss" being turned on in the bios the machine does not in fact resume after power-loss.

Sum up: if you are looking for a small form factor (really small) relatively high-performance PC with a real intel processor that uses almost no power, stays cool and is cheap enough that you just don't worry about it, then this is definitely a PC for you. But remember this is not some Ryzen 32-core Threadripper based gaming PC.
