We've just released the Wio Lite RISC-V (GD32VF103) - With ESP8266, which is a GD32 MCU based RISC-V board. With the onboard WiFi and Lipo charging circuit, it is more suitable for IoT applications.

 

Sipeed Longan Nano is a development board based on GD32VF103CBT6 MCU with RISC-V 32-bit core of GigaDevice. It is convenient for students, engineers and geek enthusiasts to contact the new-generation RISC-V processor. Longan Nano sold by Seeed comes with a 0.96inch 160x80 IPS RGB LCD and an acrylic transparent case.

 

GD32VF103CBT6 is a Bumblebee core based on Nuclei System Technology. Support RV32IMAC instruction set and ECLIC fast interrupt function. Core power consumption is only 1/3 of that of traditional Cortex-M3.  

 

Longan Nano development board, double-row pin layout design, needle spacing 700 mil, can be inserted directly into breadboard; on-board 8M passive crystal oscillator, 32.768 KHz RTC low-speed crystal oscillator, Mini TF slot, and use Type-C USB interface. 

 

Longan Nano supports multiple download methods: USB DFU download, UART ISP download, JTAG download. In the USB DFU download mode, you only need a USB Type-C cable to download the program to the development board. At the same time, Longan Nano supports the standard JTAG interface, which can be debugged online using the in-store RISC-V debugger or any JTAG-enabled debugger such as J-Link. 

 

Meanwhile, Sipeed has adapted the PlatformIO IDE for the Longan Nano development board, which can be visually developed on multiple platforms such as Windows/Linux:

    Great little board for Rust development
    Besides supporting C++ development, the Longan Nano is also well-supported by Rust. So if you've ever wanted to try embedded Rust, this is a good choice.

    Regardless of which language you choose, this board is a great value, with more features than boards that typically cost four times as much.

    Excellent board kit for the price
    Amazing little device for less than 5$ US. Comes complete with case, pins for soldering, screen, it even has USB C. Easy to develop with VSC and PlatformIO. Most important, you cant beat Seeed Studio quality and customer service!

    Fun little board to play around with, good value for money
    This is a useful little board with a screen, good for playing around. Programming it is a bit of a search, in the end I used Atom.io with Platformio, but finally could make some nice demos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRZb-9OW5uI

    Amazing Value
    The board is very good and works well. 10€ with import duties and transport is amazing for a 108MHz 32b RV32IMAC+ECLIC and an LCD screen tested up to 6.7MHz of SPI frequency.
    The IDE VSCode+Platform.IO works well. I wasn't impressed with the examples and there are lots of missing implementations for the arduino calls, I made my own implementations since I was learning C++ and Risc-V anyway. I'm very happy with the purchase!
