Solution to Seeeduino sketch uploading error

We should have response a lot earlier, sorry again.

Root cause: The latest batch (During Oct) of Seeeduino shipped might have wrong fuse, which will cause bootloader sector get skipped. For the first time we upload test program via bootloader, it is all right. But if the device is repowered, the MCU does not go into bootloader anymore.

Solution:
1) Please refer to the quick fix by Bitbang mode as the last post from Albert
if it is too much trouble,
2) we are more than relieved to replace one for you.

We did serious testing to the Seeeduino shipped, [visual inspect -> program bootloader -> functional test of each pin -> package]. But we still need a complete process to cover the exceptions. The damage to our quality and your time is permanent. Please let us know if any assist needed. Sorry for the huge inconvenience brought!

Thanks for your support!

  1. Seeeduinomega v1.23

    AVRDUDE error.

The device loads and is recognized in windows 32 bit environment, the L blinks rapidly when first trying to upload sketch, the RX blinks about 4 times, 15s interval. Then Avrdude error occurs.

Prior sketch is locked in memory and functions properly, memory is unable to be written.

I don't want it replaced but if you want it for quality control I'll mail it back to you. 😀

  2. power from usb?

check the little switches near the jst power plug same side as the usb connector,

I think all three should be switched in towards the centre of the board.

mine would n’t upload when new one off the switches was out

    good luck

  3. Hi, Finally found this post and it might be the solution I require as there seems to be no contact for seeeduino studios.
I bought a seeeduino via cool components in the UK (who are not offering support until June 7th at earliest!) and it worked for a few hours when I tested it to familiarize myself with it (as I was considering switching from basic stamp.)
Just got the seeeduino out of it box and it won’t accept uploads – avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding error.
I’m not happy to rebuild the board to get it to work and want to ask how I can get a replacement? I’m also now dubious about using the board for ‘live’ projects if it is so unstable.
    A response is appreciated ASAP.
    Richard
