POWER-UP PCBA #5: Free Wio-E5 Wireless Modules Sponsor for Fusion PCBA Customization
Updated News:
To accelerate the development of IoT industry to the next level, Seeed is 100% sponsoring Wio-E5 projects with the Seeed Fusion PCB Assembly Service for all hardware enthusiasts, designers, makers, and engineers around the world!
Good ideas need to be discovered, and good projects deserve to be recognized, realized and widely disseminated! Each person is limited to two PCBA boards 100% completely FREE for one design, including PCB fabrication, the cost of parts, assembly, and shipping. The design must include Wio-E5. In this challenging time, in order to help developers working with LoRaWAN, Seeed is providing 5 of the new Wio-E5 STM32WLE5JC modules, free with prototypes customized with Seeed Fusion PCBA.
What is Wio-E5 STM32WLE5JC?
Wio-E5 is the world’s first Wio module with an ST system-level MCU embedded. Early versions of the LoRaWAN module required an additional MCU to run the application code, but now you can directly use the Wio-E5 STM32WLE5JC module to complete the task.

With its compact size, easy installation and fine-tuning, the Wio-E5 is the perfect candidate for new smart IoT projects. Compared with other LoRaWAN modules, the price of the Wio-E5 module is very competitive, which will carry great savings along the whole product development process.
Wio-E5 is suitable for LoRaWAN sensor nodes and other wireless communication applications, particularly long-distance, ultra-low-power applications. Designed to industrial standards, the modules are suitable for industrial IoT (IIoT) products, which is the foundation for Industry 4.0 and Smart Factories.

It can play an important role in providing smart and efficient networks in the future, for example in smart cities, industrial applications, smart home applications, healthcare, and agriculture. The highly integrated Wio-E5 has great flexibility. Developers can easily manipulate other GPIOs of the MCU, including UART, I2C, ADC, etc.
Orkhan AmirAslan, a hardware engineer from TTN recently developed a feather-style breakout board for the Wio-E5 module, ahead of the module’s release, which is currently being customized and manufactured with Seeed’s Fusion PCB assembly service.

As well as providing support for the Wio-E5 module, with the PCBA customization for Assembly service (DFA), Seeed’s engineers were able to identify incorrect packages and footprint issues ahead of time, mitigating costly problems and delays later on. The PCB Design for Manufacture (DFM) review caught a major short, which would have turned the feathers into paperweights. Both DFA and DFM review services are included free with all PCB Assembly orders.
If you are interested in using it in your designs, then keep reading and see what Seeed offers!
PCBA Prototype Customization Sponsorship for Commercial Wio-E5 products.
If you are engaged in wireless applications, not limited to meter reading, IoT nodes, sensor networks, or other low-power wide-area IoT scenarios that utilize the Wio-E5, then don’t miss this opportunity. Seeed Fusion PCBA is providing designers with 5 free Wio-E5 modules for prototype PCBA orders.

For those who have successfully applied for sponsorship, please let us know when the design based on Wio-E5 is completed. We will review your application and fulfill the sponsorship by binding a $50 coupon to your account to deduct the price of five Wio-E5 modules.
Great News! Wio-E5 has been added to Seeed Open Parts Library (OPL), available for just USD$7.90!
Like all PCBA OPL components, these parts are available for use with the Seeed Fusion PCB Assembly service at a lower price, but more importantly, these parts are stocked locally, so if all parts are sourced from the OPLs, then super fast PCB assembly can be realized from as little as 7 working days.
In addition, Seeed is providing free prototyping for business users to further reduce the financial burden, especially in the current difficult times. When you prototype with Seeed Fusion, and your product is upgraded to batch production (100 pieces or more) with Seeed Fusion, the prototyping costs will be deducted (up to 6% of the batch production value).

Seeed Fusion provides hardware services from prototyping to mass production. With more than 12 years of experience in the field of electronic manufacturing, Seeed’s expertise and connections can help you reduce costs, improve yield and reliability, and reduce production risks.
The Seeed Fusion turnkey PCB assembly service handles PCB manufacturing, parts procurement and assembly all in one. With the Open Parts Libraries (OPL) of locally sourced parts, you can save money and if all your parts are from the OPL, the production time can be shortened to as little as 7 working days. There are currently over 150,000 parts in the Open Parts Library and is still growing. Get an instant online quote now.
If you are very interested in our product, but do not want to draw schematic and lay out by yourself for some reason, you are welcome to experience our ODM service. For any questions please feel free to get in touch with us via [email protected] and we look forward to working with you.

Attention! For the first time ever, we’re bringing you free functional testing of 1 piece for every PCBA order. Seeed Fusion functional testing ensures the quality of PCBA products and avoids delays in product release due to rework. Come and get the first try!

Great offer. Everyone who’s designing a device around this module should benefit from this offer.
Thank you for featuring my STM32WL-E5 Feather design too.
Thank you Orkhan, you did a great job!
Will there be a devboard based on this module?
Yes, it will be released at the end of December.
Interesting. I am using IMST modules (from Germany) now on a plug-in on boards you build for me.
Could consider to swap to these for the next batch. Also the construction could then be done by Seeed.
Of course would need to do a test.
– Do you have one on a break-out board for a test?
– Is there documentation for the API of the built-in LoRa stack?
– Is this stack LoRa Alliance pre-certified?
Cheers, Gijs

Hi Gijs, thank you for your trust in Seeed and your interest in LoRa-E5.
About the questions you raised, our reply is as follows:
– We will launch the Lora E5 development board at the end of December.
– The SDK also will be launched in December.
– It doesn’t have LoRa Alliance pre-certified. LoRa-E5 provides FCC and CE certification.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.
Cheers,
