As a PM specially for Respberry Pi product line in Seeed , Xiaobo would like to share some of his views about IoT, ESP8266 WiFi module and some ESP8266 products today. Besides, he’s got an interesting tutorials plan about ESP8266 WiFi module\u00a0for us in the later \u00a0few weeks. \u00a0Should you be\u00a0a little curious about the\u00a0tutorials? Me ,too. While today , let’s see what’s fun here \u00a0in his TALKS about “IoT and ESP8266 WiFi module<\/strong>” first.<\/p>\n

“What is\u00a0Internet of Thing? And How do I think?”<\/b><\/div>\n
You must have heard the term”IoT” somewhere else, like News on TV, friend’s chat…or you searched for\u00a0an\u00a0exact definition of it on\u00a0Wikipedia<\/a>. <\/em><\/strong>The description is too long?Here we get a short version of it: “To make every physical objects online.”<\/div>\n
Now how about taking “fridge” as an example.The fridge\u00a0can record what foods\u00a0you eat\u00a0over the\u00a0past week.,tell you to\u00a0replenish food and juice when you’re outside,\u00a0remind you of improving diet structure.<\/p>\n
All above could be easily turned into reality only if your fridge is online.<\/div>\n
There are three types of IoT:<\/div>\n
\u00a01. IoT City, network is 3G\/4G,\u00a0Fiber communication or something else<\/div>\n
\u00a02. IoT Home, network is WiFi, ZigBee …<\/div>\n
\u00a03. IoT Body, network is Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultrasonic<\/div>\n

And today our PM,xiao Bo will\u00a0talk about WiFi. Yes, it’s \u00a0about\u00a0ESP9266 WiFi module.<\/div>\n

“What is ESP8266 and Why is ESP8266?”<\/b><\/div>\n
ESP8266<\/strong><\/em><\/a> is a highly integrated chip designed for the needs of a new connected world. It offers a complete and self-contained Wi-Fi networking solution, allowing it to either host the application or to offload all Wi-Fi networking functions from another application processor.<\/div>\n

In Xiaobo’s mind , open source friendly<\/em><\/strong><\/a>,powerful and cheap are the most attractive\u00a0points of it .<\/div>\n
Until now, there’ve built a lot community projects, such as NodeMCU<\/a>.<\/div>\n

“What are we doing with ESP8266 WiFi module? And Next?<\/b>“<\/div>\n
We’re the first company to introduce\u00a0ESP8266 WiFi module<\/a> into open source community and we’re cooperating with\u00a0NodeMCU team to push\u00a0NodeMCU into this community as well.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
