When preparing your BOM, identify the exact component you need. A description such as \u201c10 k\u03a9 resistor\u201d leaves several details open, including package size, tolerance, and power rating. The manufacturer part number (MPN) identifies the specific part<\/strong>, while the reference designator and quantity show where it belongs and how many are needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the MPN in the part-number field. For Seeed\u2019s own products, you can use the corresponding Seeed SKU. If a component cannot be matched, include a product link to help the purchasing team identify it. The link serves as a reference; it does not determine where the part will be purchased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the specified part cannot be sourced, we will ask you to provide an alternative where possible.<\/strong> Your team knows the design requirements and any testing already completed. If you need help identifying an alternative, our engineers can offer guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A replacement must suit the design as well as be available to buy. Package dimensions, pin assignments, and electrical characteristics need to be checked.
