Probably you might get a ReSpeaker <\/a>from Kickstarter <\/a>or Bazaar<\/a>. It is a hack-able open development boards specifically designed for voice interaction. It is a development board based on Mediatek\u2019s MT7688 WiFi module and runs on OpenWrt. \u00a0Python SDK is provided to developers, and other programming languages\/options such as C\/C++, Arduino and JavaScript. ReSpeaker also supports various hardware add-ons like Grove Expansion board, Microphone Array, etc…<\/p>\n

Today I would like to share a collection of reviews and projects using ReSpeaker and I will try Respeaker core on my own! Hopefully this post can help you get started as quickly as possible. To get started, all you\u2019ll need are:<\/p>\n

ReSpeaker supports speech recognition using Microsoft Cognitive Service,Amazon Alexa Voice Service, Google speech API, Wit.ai etc. It’s also a great choice as a home assistant speaker<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I have a ReSpeaker core but I have no clue about how to do with it. After reading all the materials, I decided to use ReSpeaker to play music for the first try. I also check the wiki page <\/a>and follow the steps on it.<\/p>\n

Firstly, connect respeaker to the wifi, I have connect ReSpeaker and my computer, it has created a Wi-Fi network called “ReSpeaker”. Connect my phone to this network.\u00a0After a few seconds, a page appeared asking for ssid and password of an existing Wi-Fi network.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After selecting the Wi-Fi at my place and enter the password, when I press the OK<\/code> button, ReSpeaker has joint the specified network.<\/p>\n

Secondly, I have downloaded Putty (as I am using Windows system, putty is recommended) and got a key <\/a>on Alexa to use\u00a0Bing Speech API.<\/p>\n

Thirdly, then save the following code in playmusic.py<\/code>\u00a0(copy the sample code from github<\/a>) and run it.<\/p>\n

The last thing I need to do is speaking to the board! Done!<\/p>\n
