Thanks to tehn and unsped’s great work, which help more and more people have their own Monome device now.<\/div>\n
Months ago, we sourced the first monome like all-in-one buttons for people who prefer cheaper monome DIY or Non-silicone alternatives.\u00a0 It’s good to start with a tiny 4*4 or even 8*8 one on proto board,\u00a0 but if you want to make it 16*16, it’s going to be a bit headache. So we provide PCB chasis PADs to leverage the construction work.<\/div>\n
This is the second version, fully compatible with Arduinome Shield or Monome 40h kit. Improvements to the older red one are:<\/div>\n

  1. 8*8 array ( we realized that very few people use 4*4…)<\/li>\n
  2. Separate wires for buttons and leds. We shared the wires in last version, which proven a trouble to most people who are linking it with 40h logic board.<\/li>\n
  3. Absolutely black PCB.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Tips for assembly:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    We worked our demo base on Arduinome Shield,\u00a0 it’s the easy an fun part, you may refer to my steps as below:<\/p>\n

    1. Solder the LED-Buttons onto the pad.<\/p>\n

    The All-in-one LED Button has a “+” on its bottom, which matches the square pad of LED Button PAD. Insert them carefully, make sure they are closely attached to the PCB, then solder.<\/p>\n

    2. Solder the Diodes.<\/p>\n

    The arrow points to the black belt end of LS4148. It’s easy even for newbie, just place some solder on one side first, then use a tweezer to place the diode and solder it to a well matched position… Finish one end for all, and fix the other end all together. It will just take a few minutes.<\/p>\n

    3. Solder the 1*8 pins onto the LED+1, LED-1, SW+1, SW-1 ports (at least)<\/p>\n

    4. Assemble Arduinome<\/p>\n

    5. Connect every player<\/p>\n
