The Internet of Things\u200b changes the way we live and how we interact with the world around us. Millions of “things”\u200b in our daily life are connected and talking to each other \u2013 fridges, speakers, TVs, cars, smart meters, health monitors and wearables.\u00a0 It brings up many new business opportunities. But it also opens up a variety of new security threats. To eliminate the threats, the IoT Hardware Enabler, Seeed Studio released another three products the MT3620 Module(AI-Link WF-M620-RSC1)<\/a>, the MT3620 Mini Dev Board<\/a>, and the MT3620 Ethernet Shield v1.0<\/a>, which support rapid prototyping of IoT applications using Microsoft\u2019s Azure Sphere<\/a>, a solution for creating highly-secured, connected MCU devices.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeed’s Azure Sphere MT3620 New Release<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The three new products based on the MT3620, ensure that developers can quickly move from prototype to production. They further enable developers to speed up their IoT deployments while also addressing security holistically. The products are ideal for equipping IoT endpoint devices to be highly secured, such as smart home, smart building, smart retail, remote access, consumer appliances, as well as factory automation applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May 2018, Seeed Studio, as one of the Microsoft\u2019s partners, introduced the Azure Sphere MT3620 Development Kit<\/a> based on the first Microsoft Azure Sphere chip MT3620. Last September, Seeed also released the Grove Starter Kit<\/a> for the MT3620 dev kit. These three new releases in March 2019 enriched the hardware ecosystem for Azure Sphere, aiming at helping developers get started prototyping and developing Azure Sphere applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MT3620 Module(AI-Link WF-M620-RSC1), developed by Seeed\u2019s partner AI-Link<\/a>, is based on the MediaTek<\/a> MT3620AN, a highly integrated single chip, tri-core Wi-Fi MCU designed to meet the requirements of modern robust internet-connected devices. It leverages the Microsoft Azure Sphere security architecture to provide security solutions to connected device developers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MT3620 Mini Dev Board Diagram<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The MT3620 Mini Dev Board is a mini-size, more scalable and lower-cost development board powered by the MT3620 Module(AI-Link WF-M620-RSC1). As a lite version of the previous MT3620 Development Board, it uses two single-row pin headers for the easy plug-in on other motherboards or expansion boards. It also optimizes the design by reducing some system hardware peripheral resources including I2S and GPIO ports with the support for 2.4G Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MT3620 Ethernet Shield<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

MT3620 Ethernet Shield is an add-on breakout board designed for Seeed\u2019s previous MT3620 development kit. For areas without Wi-Fi connection, this shield board helps the MT3620 development board connect to network via the ethernet port.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ethernet Shield is now available for order on Seeed\u2019s online shop Bazaar. Meanwhile, the Mini Dev Board and the Module are live for pre-order, with delivery scheduled for mid May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
