SOM\nsolutions today use a variety of different connector solutions including\nSO-DIMM connectors used in DRAM and Mini Module Plus (MMP) connectors for\ncertain specialist boards. Up until now, there has been no solution offering\nflexible IO and a robust mounting mechanism, nor a standard form factor. The\nnew 96Boards SOM specifications aim to address this lack of choice by producing\na general purpose SOM platform that will enable plug and play compatibility\nbetween a whole range of different SOM solutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today two 96Boards SOM specifications have been\nlaunched &#8211; the Compute Module Specification and the Wireless Specification.\nBoth specifications encourage the development of reliable and cost-effective\nembedded platforms for building end-products. The specifications have been\nproposed, created and reviewed by the current 96Boards Steering Committee\nMembers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>The Compute Module\nSpecification<\/strong>, which defines a SOM with generic\nmodule-to-carrier board interface, independent of the specific SoC choice on\nthe module. The Compute module addresses the application requirements of\nsegments including industrial automation, smart devices, gateway systems,\nautomotive, medical, robotics and retail POS systems. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Two form factors\nare defined as <strong><em>SOM-CA <\/em><\/strong>and <strong><em>SOM-CB<\/em><\/strong> with a maximum of four\n100 pin Connectors. with the RK1808 AIoT chip with ultra low power\nconsumption. The 96Boards Compute SOM designs are available for purchase today\nfrom Beiqicloud.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TB-96AI<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TB-96AI , equipped with RK3399Pro, has an\nintegrated neural network processor NPU, computing power of up to 3.0 Tops, and\noffers compatibility across a variety of AI architectures. It can be combined\nwith the backplane to form a complete industry application motherboard, and be applied\nto various embedded artificial intelligence fields.
