{"id":21569,"date":"2019-04-08T10:49:34","date_gmt":"2019-04-08T02:49:34","guid":{"rendered":"\/blog\/?p=21569"},"modified":"2019-04-08T10:50:43","modified_gmt":"2019-04-08T02:50:43","slug":"introducing-the-new-rf-explorer-signal-generator-combo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/2019\/04\/08\/introducing-the-new-rf-explorer-signal-generator-combo\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing the New RF Explorer Signal Generator Combo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/j3.rf-explorer.com\/images\/stories\/RFExplorer\/114991659_combination-16_small.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This post was published originally on RF Explorer&#8217;s <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/j3.rf-explorer.com\/menu-the-news\/212-introducing-new-rf-explorer-signal-generator-combo\"><em>blog<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are happy to introduce the new enhanced version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/RF-Explorer-Signal-Generator-COMBO-p-2944.html\">RF Explorer Signal Generator<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new model includes an internal expansion board to enable three major requests from advanced customers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Frequency range now starts at 100KHz and covers up&nbsp;to 6GHz, compared to the baseline generator starts at 23.4MHz.<\/li><li>Output power range is no longer limited to 8 discrete levels,&nbsp;it can provide calibrated output with 0.25dB steps the range of up to -40 to +10dBm, depending on the frequency range. Uncalibrated power output can go from -60 to +15dBm (a future firmware upgrade will allow up to +18dBm)<\/li><li>Output signal&nbsp;is now strongly filtered for harmonics wideband. See a comparative example below at 25MHz as a good reference of the new harmonic filter in action in the time domain, measured with an oscilloscope.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/j3.rf-explorer.com\/images\/stories\/RFExplorer\/release\/RFGENCOMBO_Scope_filtered_25MHz_comparative.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The same improvement in the frequency domain shows the original signal output from the baseline RF Explorer Signal Generator and the output from the new Combo model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/j3.rf-explorer.com\/images\/stories\/RFExplorer\/release\/RFEGENCOMBO_SA_filtered_25MHz_comparative.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This new and improved functionality can be added to any existing RF Explorer Signal Generator by&nbsp;simply&nbsp;plugin a RF Explorer Signal Generator Expansion board on it.
