You can follow the guide below to install RetroPie manually. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><u>Step 1: Get Raspberry Pi OS Up and Running<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First, download a Raspberry Pi OS Desktop Image using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/software\/\">Raspberry Pi Imager<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make things easier, preconfigure your WiFi in the RPi Imager using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/2021\/01\/25\/three-methods-to-configure-raspberry-pi-wifi\/\">these steps<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flash the OS image to your SD card using the RPi imager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once done, transfer SD card from desktop to your Raspberry Pi 4, and let it boot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need help with completing this step, there are detailed official instructions that you can reference <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ntaXWS8Lk34\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: On your first boot, you may wish to update your system with the following commands first:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo apt update\nsudo apt upgrade<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><u><strong>Step 2: Retrieve the RetroPie Files<\/strong><\/u><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First, launch a terminal window on the Raspberry Pi 4 on the top left-hand corner of your screen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, download RetroPie setup files by keying in: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo apt install git lsb-release\ncd\ngit clone --depth=1 https:\/\/github.com\/RetroPie\/RetroPie-Setup.git<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><u><strong>Step 3: <\/strong><\/u>Run the Setup<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>cd RetroPie-Setup\nchmod +x retropie_setup.sh\nsudo .\/retropie_setup.sh<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><u><strong>Step 4: Install RetroPie<\/strong><\/u><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"594\" height=\"351\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/f06f3ba8-3738-11e6-9ccc-be601172713b.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47863\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/f06f3ba8-3738-11e6-9ccc-be601172713b.png 594w, https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/f06f3ba8-3738-11e6-9ccc-be601172713b-300x177.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 594px) 100vw, 594px\" \/><figcaption><em>Source: RetroPie<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the GUI that pops up, select Basic Install >> Quick Install.
