Time flies! It has been a whole year since we invited some of Seeeders and residency makers at Chaihuo x.factory<\/a> to do a call for #ZeroWaste with some recycled materials as our way to celebrate Earth Day 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Earth Day 2021<\/a> (April 22, yes, TODAY) breaking upon us, what better time to take on a new project while contributing your #TinybutStrong efforts to our Mother Earth? The theme for Earth Day 2021 is Restore Our Earth\u2122, which focuses on natural processes, emerging green technologies, and innovative thinking that can restore the world\u2019s ecosystems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate this year\u2019s Earth Day, we at Seeed<\/a> would love to invite all of you to explore some eco-friendly applications and projects originated from our community. In this way, you could explore the connections between every one of us and Mother Earth, learn about how open technologies leverage environmental conservation and get inspired for your next #RestoreOurEarth tinkering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"LongHive\"\/<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Bees are critical to the livelihood of our ecosystem, but unfortunately in the past decade, bee populations have decreased by 30%. LongHive, is a full-service infrastructure for beehive maintenance, enabled by the Helium Network <\/a>and Deep Learning (DL). Data-driven beekeepers can install our LongHive system, which fits underneath standard beehives and includes a suite of relevant sensors, a pre-trained convolutional neural network (CNN) for classifying the hive\u2019s acoustic signatures, and a web-based dashboard for easy visualization of the transient signals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
