Introduction to Blokdots<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Blokdots is a one-stop simplified software platform, that empowers anyone to build their own Arduino projects and \u201cinteractive hardware prototypes without writing a line of code\u201d.\u00a0<\/em>The good news that we are about to share with you today is that, Blokdots is supporting our Seeeduino Lotus and Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino\u00ae for people who want to create prototypes without coding.<\/strong> By now, partial components of the Kit, such as, button, rotary potentiometer, brightness\/light, sound, LED, buzzer, accelerometer, and air pressure are supported by Blokdots, and it is going to gradually implement all the modules in the Kit.<\/span><\/p>\n

With Blokdots, we are able to make prototypes by simply adding step-by-step and drag-and-drop programming sentences, that together allow building and coding projects for professional prototyping use. Blokdots consists of individual \u201cbloks\u201d \u2013 i.e., pre-soldered hardware components including actuators, LEDs, potentiometers, motors, and sensors that are outfitted with a 3.5mm jack, which allows them to be connected to the central \u201cbrain\u201d (hub). Using those jacks enables users with no knowledge of electrical engineering, project making, or soldering skills to prototype in a matter of minutes. Moreover, the brain acts as the powerhouse, from which the other components can draw electricity (through USB cables).   1. Upon opening the Blokdots APP, you will notice two windows \u2013 \u201cproject view\u201d & \u201clive view\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. In the live view, you can arrange the slots in which you can put various components (ex. LED, LCD buttons) to connect with. In case there are too many slots to configure, which might become messy and confusing, you can use the function called \u201cwizard\u201d to check where you plugged in specific components in order to better configure all the connected parts.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. In the project view, you can add logic to the connected components by selecting a \u201ccard\u201d, in which you can prescribe what a specific component is supposed to do, or how it should be functioning. On each card, you will notice that the language is plainly written with simple terms, rather than programming jargon. In fact, this is the reason that anybody can make projects from scratch on Blokdots, since the wording on the software is not esoteric and easy-to-follow.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. After adding X number of cards as you please, save your work on the two views, and then run the project on your Arduino board. That\u2019s it, as simple as that!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
