That&#8217;s what research is about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is Cellular automata?&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cellular_automaton\">Cellular automata (CA)<\/a> is a kind of grid dynamics model in which time, space and state are discrete, and spatial interaction and temporal causality are local. It has the ability to simulate the space-time evolution process of complex systems.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Cellular-automata-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-59324\" width=\"400\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Cellular-automata-1.png 400w, https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Cellular-automata-1-300x191.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Sandro Benigno from Brazil, began his career in computer graphics and video production in 1993. After that, he started a company working on digital signage projects, before returning to video production as a photography director. Since 2017, he has been working at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Federal_University_of_Minas_Gerais#\">Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG)<\/a>, and currently runs the Computing Arts Laboratory of the UFMG&#8217;s Fine Arts School. Sandro designed these boards for students and artists to experiment with Cellular Automata projects, and had them produced using the Seeed Fusion PCBA service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using Cellular Automata to create complex art and simulate nature<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The base robots, made in cooperation with fellow Professor Mar\u00edlia Lyra Bergamo are currently being used to create robotic plants and explore concepts around complexity theories. They were designed to create wired robot meshes on pieces of computational art and for didactic applications in cellular automata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each robot forms a cell and collects and shares data with neighboring robots. The functional testing service managed to convert the yield from 0% to 100% with minimum hassle and expenditure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As always in manufacturing, the earlier problems are found, the cheaper and easier they are to remedy.
