Hey community,<\/span><\/p>

Did you know that the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum is the world’s biggest annual gathering of the \u2018ICTs for development\u2019 multi-stakeholder community? In fact, it is a well-recognized and efficient platform to learn the world\u2019s latest technological trends, exchange information and networks, share the best practices, and build trans-sectoral partnerships for achieving the <\/span>UN\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals<\/span><\/a><\/span> (SDGs). Marking the 13th WSIS Forum this year, it has been spearheaded by the UN\u2019s specialized agency for ICTs – International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and co-organized by UNESCO, UNDP and UNCTAD every year. For this year, the theme of the event is well-being, inclusion, and resilience for the SDGs. <\/span>(Figure 1, <\/span>WSIS Forum, 2022<\/span><\/a><\/span>).<\/span><\/p>

What\u2019s on the Agenda?<\/b><\/h3>

On this backdrop, we\u2019re happy to announce that Seeed is going to host a thematic workshop (i.e., webinar) on 18th of March as one of the official programs for the WSIS Forum 2022.<\/strong> What is it about? Our thematic workshop is titled as \u201cTech4Good: AIoT Open Source Innovations for Carbon Neutrality, Climate Change, Wildlife Conservation, and Sustainable Communities\u201d, that will focus on real-life application cases of open AIoT hardware and software solutions. This 1 hour-long workshop will first begin by inviting 6 speakers to give 7-minute individual presentations, which will be followed by a moderated 18-minute panel discussion.<\/span><\/p>

For this Tech4Good workshop, Seeed has joined forces with open tech communities to share:<\/span><\/p>

\"\ud83c\udf31\" <\/span>2. Solutions, Cases & Projects:<\/span><\/span> How utilizing open source hardware and software is solving a variety of environmental, social, and economic issues of concern, along with its potential contribution to carbon neutrality?<\/span><\/p>

Insights & Reflection:<\/span><\/span> What multi-stakeholder resources (academia, UN agencies, CSOs, governments, companies, etc.) are needed for glocal open tech communities to accelerate scalable solutions more rapidly for holistic and sustainable development? What are the obstacles from obtaining those resources?<\/span><\/p>
