As you know, since 8th of June this year, Seeed Studio has been running an open source innovation contest – \u201c<\/span>IoT Into the Wild Contest for Sustainable Planet 2022<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u201d. Since there are only 6 days left for the FREE hardware kit applications (due on August 8, 2022 at 23:59 P.M., PT), we\u2019d love to take this special timing to share some updates on: i) the new Judges and\/or Supporters; ii) the last call for free hardware applications, and; iii) some product updates for \u2018<\/span>SenseCAP K1100 \u2013 The Sensor Prototype Kit with with LoRa\u00ae and AI<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

From the beginning, our Contest has been warmly supported by <\/span>Hackster.io<\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>Project 15 from Microsoft<\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>Zambezi Partners<\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>Edge Impulse<\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>Fab City Foundation<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> (IAAC), and <\/span>the Paradise International Foundation<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>. Later on, as the Contest has been increasingly gaining more attention and popularity on the potential of open tech and AIoT technologies for accelerating the achievement of the UN\u2019s <\/span>Sustainable Development Goals<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> (SDGs), a lot of interesting multi-stakeholders have joined the Contest as either \u2018Judges\u2019 and\/or \u2018Supporters\u2019: a big shout-out to <\/span>Semtech<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>Helium<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>SOSV<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>Nova Labs<\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>HAX<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, <\/span>Himax<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, and <\/span>Chaihuo x.factory<\/span><\/a><\/span>! <\/span>Andy Gan<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> from Semtech<\/span>, <\/span>Joey Hiller<\/span><\/a><\/span> from Helium, <\/span>Cyril Ebersweiler<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> from SOSV and HAX, and <\/span>Travis L. Teague<\/span><\/a><\/span> from Nova Labs will join as \u2018Judges\u2019 to select 27 project winners in early October.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Thanks to the passionate participation from open tech communities, academia, and private sectors (among other multi-stakeholders), we’ve received 153 free hardware applications, and 440+ people registered as the Contest participants to date. Currently, 22 free hardware kits (\u2018<\/span><\/span>SenseCAP K1100 \u2013 The Sensor Prototype Kit with with LoRa\u00ae and AI<\/span>\u2019<\/span>) are left up for grabs!<\/span><\/span><\/p>
