Also, LIDAR can be used to implement 3D scene scan and modeling. But currently the existing product is very expensive (&gt;$2000 USD). The high cost of the current products prevents LIDAR from bing applied in the daily home usage and it is hard for a robotic hobbyist to afford one.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8729\" alt=\"introduction1\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/introduction1-640x1024.jpg\" width=\"525\" height=\"840\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/introduction1-640x1024.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/introduction1-187x300.jpg 187w, https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/introduction1.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/depot\/RPLIDAR-360-degree-Laser-Scanner-Development-Kit-p-1823.html\">RPLIDAR<\/a>\u00a0is built by low cost design, much lower than the existing products. The ranger system is based on triangulation, providing precise measurement (please refer to the following spec details). Thanks to the high speed vision system designed by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/depot\/Robopeak-m-95.html?ref=side\">RoboPeak<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/depot\/RPLIDAR-360-degree-Laser-Scanner-Development-Kit-p-1823.html\">RPLIDAR<\/a>\u00a0only takes 0.4 millisecond to perform a single measure. The high speed sampling rate enables\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/depot\/RPLIDAR-360-degree-Laser-Scanner-Development-Kit-p-1823.html\">RPLIDAR<\/a>\u00a0to have a 5.5hz scan rate with 360 sample points in each cycle.
