However, I\u2019d like to show my maker spirit by building a smart watch, aka Xadow Watch. As to the functions of this Xadow Watch, I have been thinking for a long time before reaching this decision: do not confine the function; make it easier to change the functions to meet different requirements. Without restraints, there will be infinite possibilities. Thus here comes Xadow Watch!<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8969\" alt=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/P1010602-1024x577.jpg\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/P1010602-1024x577.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/P1010602-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To make a wearable demo of small form factor and with rich functions, the first idea occurred to me is Xadow. No more explanations here (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.xadow.cc\/\">What is Xadow?<\/a>). Then I need to consider the sizes of Xadow and wristband. The combination of 4 modules and a battery is great. Actually I\u2019d like to add more modules, but my wrist isn\u2019t that big:) Let\u2019s make it simple with the following functions: display time, show the time according to gestures and hourly chime.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8970\" alt=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/P1010600-1024x577.jpg\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/P1010600-1024x577.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/P1010600-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s see what modules to choose. The controller <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/depot\/Xadow-Main-Board-p-1524.html?cPath=6_7\">Xadow \u2013 Main Board<\/a> is a must. To display time, we need <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/depot\/Xadow-OLED-096-p-1520.html?cPath=34_36\">Xadow \u2013 OLED<\/a>. As to control with gesture, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/depot\/Xadow-3Axis-Accelerometer-p-1521.html\">Xadow \u2013 3-Axies Accelerometer<\/a> is a good choice. And to chime, we\u2019d better use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/depot\/Xadow-Vibration-Motor-p-1517.html\">Xadow \u2013 Vibration Motor<\/a> (Sounds will annoy your neighbors, and vibration won&#8217;t \ud83d\ude42 ) As a conclusion, Xadow Watch has the following functions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Display of time<\/li>\n<li>Set time via buttons<\/li>\n<li>Simple gesture to wake up the system<\/li>\n<li>Hourly vibration as reminder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8971\" alt=\"Xadow Watch\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Xadow-Watch.jpg\" width=\"457\" height=\"444\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Xadow-Watch.jpg 457w, https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Xadow-Watch-300x291.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 457px) 100vw, 457px\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">You might be thinking this smart watch is not that smart. I agree! But this is just the starting point; you\u2019ll surely have better ideas and can come up with a much smarter watch or some other wearable projects!
