The Sound sensor module is a simple microphone. Based on the power amplifier LM386 and the electret microphone, it can be used to detect the sound strength of the environment. The value of output can be adjusted by the potentiometer.

It can detect the sound strength of the environment, but not the audio frequencies. If you wanna use one to judge the level of sound, yes you can.
I would like to use this sensor to detect pure tones and to react Arduino depending of each single pure tone sent. So, can it be used in this way?? Any demo code for this one?

Thank you, I know that the sensor will not be able to record directional information. I was wondering what in what directional pattern it picked up sound such as: omnidirectional, cardioid, or bidirectional. This would provide information as to which direction the sound has to be coming from for the sensor to pick it up.
