This kit consists of a Right mecanum wheel, a DC motor, a motor support, a shaft connector and some screws as well as nuts. The mecanum wheel is a conventional wheel with a series of rollers attached to its circumference. These rollers each have an axis of rotation at 45° to the plane of the wheel and at 45° to a line through the centre of the roller parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel. Due to its unique conformation, when the wheel rolls on the ground, a portion of the force in the rotational direction of the wheel will translated into a force normal to the wheel direction.
This kit is usually supposed to work together with other 3 Mecanum wheel kits (2 left, 1 right) in order to form an omni-directional mobile platform.
