Step 1

Version and setup

• Device connection: Connect reTerminal Sticky with a USB data cable and use desktop Chrome or Edge.
• Installation: The package writes the bootloader, partition table, OTA data and application at their own offsets. Choosing the erase option clears the whole flash first; without it, existing Wi-Fi credentials in the NVS region are kept.
• Tesserae server: This firmware needs a Tesserae server on your network (Docker image or Home Assistant App). Install it first at https://docs.tesserae.ink/install/server/ and note its URL.
• First boot: On first boot the Sticky opens a Wi-Fi captive portal. Join it, enter your Wi-Fi details and the Tesserae server URL, and the device registers itself and appears under Settings, Devices.
• Updates: Later versions arrive over the air from your Tesserae server. The same package can also be flashed from https://tesserae.ink/flash.

Step 2

Flash to device

Both modes verify and write the complete firmware package described by the selected manifest. Full flash erase only runs in the erase mode.
