Rainbow Cube Kit (Assembled)

Is the sample demo code available somewhere for download? I want to upload my own code to change the LED display, but am worried that I won't be able to revert back to the preloaded demo.

I asked the same question a few months ago and didn't get an answer but I found that what's installed is a combination of the Moodlamp and 3 PlasmaCube examples (I think...it's been awhile.) So don't worry, they are right there in the examples when you install the Arduino software.

Am I right, that I can use it just out of the box? I mean does it has already uploaded shining firmware?

yes, you are right.The box is only a shell, dose not affect using this product.

Is it possible to control the kit via serial communication over the USB connection without having to store programs on the rainbowduino itself? I'd like to write a C# app to control the colors, etc.

Hi Zach, that is possible because we are the same to control the light by Arduino serial port. You can directly control the light via MY9221 serial port.More detail ,please read the MY9221 datasheet and the schematic .

Just purchased a Rainbow Cube and was hoping to do some programming. Unfortunately, trying to pull the various software pieces from multiple places (and different wiki notes point to different zip's) and get everything in the right place has yet to work for me. Can you provide a clear list of software links to download and basic step-by-step instructions to get started (1. download X from Y, 2. download A from B, 3. move directory ... from download B into directory ..., 4. start arduino.exe, 5. change these settings (if needed), 6. open ..., 7. verify, 8. push, etc.

I will explore the forums but the confusion (for me) starts off from the wiki (http://seeedstudio.com/wiki/Rainbow_Cube) where you find the following instructions : Let us get started with a simple example: Download Rainbowduino v3.0 Library Open Cube1.pde sketch (a copy of it is reproduced below): ... There's at least one step missing here since the "Rainbowduino v3.0 Library" is just the library.
