Wio-S3 Architecture: Combining ESP32-S3 Processing Power with SX1262 LoRa Connectivity

At the core of Wio-S3 is the powerful ESP32-S3R8 dual-core Xtensa® LX7 MCU, delivering up to 240MHz processing performance and supporting advanced IoT applications that require local data processing.

The module integrates 16MB Flash, 8MB PSRAM, and built-in SRAM, providing sufficient memory resources for embedded applications, sensor data processing, and edge computing scenarios. This allows developers to implement application logic directly on the module without requiring an additional external MCU.

For long-range wireless communication, Wio-S3 integrates the Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver, supporting multiple LoRaWAN® frequency plans including EU868, US915, AS923, AU915, KR920, and IN865. With sensitivity up to -137dBm and output power up to 20.9dBm, Wio-S3 delivers reliable communication performance for long-distance IoT deployments.
