The black plastic molded over the solder joints is poor quality and will slide right off with little force. Combined with overly-stiff breadboard contacts, it's an exercise in frustration.
Many have commented elsewhere about the stinky outgassing vapors from the poor quality plastic. Needless to say, they fill the room with their noxious smell.
Get yourself a good pair of strippers, some 22 AWG solid wire, and make your own jumpers. Trust me, you can make better ones yourself.

@Alex It is not a common appearance. You could contact our Customer Service for a replacement.

Great investment. It's basically a wire soldered to a pin on each end, and the joint is covered with a piece of rubber.

OK, but a little light duty. Should have a slightly larger diameter? Work fine so far.

I was disappointed by the build quality of these jumpers. After only a couple of weeks of use, the wires on several of the jumpers have detached as well as the black plastic grip.
