      Will this read the tags that are implanted in pets (US based)?

      Hey alanv73 I can confirm that this works with implantable chips, I have one in my hand and one in my dog, both work with this reader. however I know there are some proprietary chips out there such as the avid brand which i havent tested, so your mileage may vary

      Hello folks. I bought EM4100 tags from Amazon and this 125khz reader works great with them. But, the tags are printed on the outside with a unique code that is not the same as the ID that the reader sees. How to correlate the tag's printed code with the ID seen by the reader? Example: tag printed on plastic "0009429268" and reader sees "000042E1E5" in UART/TTL mode. Thanks!

      Answering my own question here... because I matched up the wrong TAG with the reader output. The value printed on my plastic tag is the decimal representation of the first 10 bytes of the reader output. So if the reader gives me 000042E1E5, then the tag should be printed with 0004383205. Easy enough when you organize your data correctly.

      Is there anyway to improve the distance in which it would pick up the RFID tags I'm using? Currently the tags have to be within 10-15mm of the actual antenna to set it off. Let me know. Thank you.

      <p>The reading distance depends on many factors i.e tag size, antenna size, tag and antenna orientation, etc. In the current case you can use external booster circuit to improve reading distance.</p>
