Bus Pirate v4 is a universal bus interface that talks to electronics from a computer serial terminal. Get to know a chip without writing code. Eliminates a ton of early prototyping effort with new or unknown chips. Seeed Studio is the official manufacturer and supporter of the Bus Pirate project. Version 4 is the next generation Bus Pirate hardware, but it's not as stable as Bus Pirate v3.
If you're just starting out with the Bus Pirate we still recommend v3 - it's cheaper, more reliable, and has all the same major features. See a Bus Pirate v4 vs v3 comparison. Protocols 1-Wire, I2C, SPI, JTAG, asynchronous serial (UART), MIDI, PC keyboard, HD44780 LCDs, and generic 2- and 3-wire libraries for custom protocols.
USB interface, USB powered
5volt tolerant pins

Firmware Upgrade Notification
If you are unsatisfied with the current firmware version, please check with the newly upgrade firmware v6.1.
Each Bus Pirate v4 is tested before it leaves the factory, but please keep in mind that v4 is still experimental, unproven hardware. If in doubt please buy the cheaper Bus Pirate v3, it is still manufactured and actively supported. This hardware is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but without any warranty; without even the implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
If you encounter any problems when using this product, here is the forum from which you can get the technical support.

It includes 1 pcs Bus Pirate v4. thanks.Answer by: admin on 2018-12-18 02:23:15
The message about v4 being not fully developed yet has been there for years! Has it been abandoned? Neither wanting to buy something that is about to be obsoleted nor wanting to learn on something that doesn't quite work yet has kept me on the fence about buying a bus pirate for years now! What gives?Question by: admin on 2018-12-18 02:20:56
To complement on the previous answer: Maybe this clarifies things (from the original dangerousprototypes deveoper): https://github.com/DangerousPrototypes/Bus_Pirate/issues/7#issuecomment-413576913 Currently there is a more up to date "Community Firmware" v7.1 for both v3 and v4 you can get from: https://github.com/BusPirate/Bus_PirateAnswer by: admin on 2018-12-18 02:20:56
