Description

Grove - Finger-clip Heart Rate Sensor with shell shell  is based on PAH8001EI-2G, a high performance and low power CMOS-process optical sensor with Green LED and DSP integrated serving as a Heart Rate Detection(HRD) sensor. This module is based on optical technology which measures the variation human blood movement in the vessel. Low power consumption and flexible power saving mode make it suitable for wearable device. Cause the heart rate sensor chip need high processing speed for the algorithm of heart rate data, this module integrate a STM32, reserved SWD interface allow users to reprogram the STM32. This module also provide tow bandages and 3D printing shell for finger test and arm test.

Hi, I'm using this Sensor with Raspberry PI 3 through Python Smbus library and i2c connection. Unfortunately, the connection always crashes after a certain amount of time and I'm getting an I/O error 5.. I'm looking for any solutions By the way i'm using this code https://github.com/DexterInd/GrovePi/blob/master/Software/Python/grove_fingerclip_heart_sensor/grove_fingerclip_heart_sensor.py You have to remove the try/catch statement if you want to get the Smbus error Thanks for any response!

Have you found a solution yet? I've been looking for a solution for a while. I did have a little success by changing the default baud-rate of the Pi's I2C to 50000. When I did that I would get two "error" readings back to back ever so often but it would not lock up the Pi and would not drop the I2C communication with the Pi. BUT this is not a true fix cause eventually the the Pi will lock up. I trying to convert one to serial to see if that would solve the issue but cannot find the WiKI page anymore that had some information on it. Please let me know if this helps you or you find a better solution to our common problem.

Hi, was trying sensor with raspberry pi3. On the beginning, sensor working fine, can sense 50-60 heart beat. But after several minute, it keep show 'error'. Have tried to unplug, on off raspberry pi, but doesn't work. May I know how to solve this error feedback?

Hi,friends- you have to tell me which language you used. if you are using arduino's code, show 'erro' means txBufferLength >= BUFFER_LENGTH, you have to clean txBuffer at set intervals. Regards!

Can you please provide details on "Flexible Sleep Rate Control"? That is mentioned in the product specifications, but there is no documentation available on how to use that feature. I want to put this sensor to sleep when its not in use! Thanks.

i am trying to get raw ppg to find inter beat interval, is it possible with this sensor, or ear clip sensor.? i am not getting how to do this
