ReSpeaker 4-Mic Array for Raspberry Pi is a 4 microphone expansion board for Raspberry Pi designed for AI and voice applications, which will help you build a more powerful and flexible voice product that integrates Amazon Alexa Voice Service, Google Assistant, and so on.
Due to the product software service life cycle has expired, Seeed Studio has ceased updating and maintaining software algorithms for the reSpeaker family of products. This series of products is only used as recording playback module, all algorithm functions need to be developed by yourself.
ReSpeaker 4-Mic Array for Raspberry Pi is a 4 microphone expansion board for Raspberry Pi designed for AI and voice applications. This means that you can build a more powerful and flexible voice product that integrates Amazon Alexa Voice Service, Google Assistant, and so on.
This product does not have audio output. If this is a requirement please consider the ReSpeaker 6-Mic Circular Array Kit For Raspberry Pi, the ReSpeaker 4-Mic Linear Array Kit for Raspberry Pi , or the ReSpeaker Mic Array v2.0.
Seeed has partnered with Picovice to bring Speech Recognition solutions on the edge using ReSpeaker 4 Mic for developers. Please follow up the wiki to configure the ReSpeaker with Raspberry Pi before using Picovoice.

What is ReSpeaker?
ReSpeaker is an open modular voice interface to hack things around you. Let you interact with your home appliances, your plant, your office, your internet-equipped devices, or any other things in your daily life, all by your voice. The ReSpeaker project provides hardware components and software libraries to build voice-enabled device.
We have this part available in Geppetto. Easy modular electronic design with Seeed and Geppetto. Build it Now!
Different from ReSpeaker 2-Mics Pi HAT, this board is developed based on AC108, a highly integrated quad-channel ADC with I2S/TDM output transition for high definition voice capture. Besides, this 4-Mics version provides a super cool LED ring, which contains 12 APA102 programmable LEDs. With that 4 microphones and the LED ring, Raspberry Pi would have the ability to do VAD(Voice Activity Detection), estimate DOA(Direction of Arrival), and show the direction via LED ring, just like Amazon Echo or Google Home.
Please note that the package does not contain Raspberry Pi.
Please note that there are no audio output interfaces on ReSpeaker 4-Mic Array for Raspberry Pi. It is only for voice capture. And you could use the headphone jack on Raspberry Pi for audio output.
