      Description

      This product is based on ToF (Time of Flight) principle and integrated with unique optical and electrical designs, so as to achieve stable, precise, high sensitivity and high-speed distance detection.


      ToF is the abbreviation of Time of Flight technology, and its operating principle is as follows: a modulated near-infrared light is sent from the sensor and reflected by an object; the distance to the object to be shot can be converted with the sensor by calculating the time difference or phase difference between the light sending and the light reflection, so as to produce the depth information. 


      Applications:

      • Drone altitude holding and terrain following

      • Machine control and safety sensor

      • Robot distance detection


      If you are using Seeeduino Lite then just put it straight into the Grove Serial Interfaces.

      Is it possible to connect the device to a Wemos Mini D1?

      Hi there~ We do not have Wemos on our hand,so not for sure. Since the wemos mini D1 support Arduino, is highly likely can work with TF Mini LiDAR.

      I've given up trying to connect to a wemos mini di. Had no success. Now i'm trying with a nodemcu and having similar problems. Are you able to help configuring it? I keep modifying this line in the code without success :SoftwareSerial serial1(16,5);Are you able to help with pins to attach to?

      HI there~One more question,did those boards you use have two hardware UART, because the baud rate is 115200,and the software UART can not support it.So please make sure the boards have two hardware UART.regards

      I'm trying to detect the object under 30cm (about 10~20cm). Not for the exact distance between the sensor and the object, just if the object was existed or not. Can we detect the object?

      Yes, 10~20cm away from the sensor. And the size of the object is about 3cm (just the bar.. a rectangular parallelepiped)

      Hi~Unfortunately, the measure range is 30cm--12m, it can not get an accurate date within 30cm.Regards

      According to the pin mappings there are two at D10 and D9, and another at D7 and D8 but i'm struggling with what values to put into SoftwareSerial serial1(x,y). Can you suggest values?

      Can you please share the refresh rate of the depth points reported (like 30Hz or 30 points per second) for this sensor? I couldn't find it in the datasheet. thanks!

      Hi Dear Customer, The Grove-TF Mini LiDAR’s UART baud rate is 115200 and the SoftwareI2C can’t support it. So if we use 1 hardware UART to hook up the sensor and other hardware UART for Serial Port display, we need at least 2 hardware UART platforms, such as arduino mega, seeeduino lite and so on. If we only have 1 UART platform(ie. seeeduino v4.2, arduino uno), we can use the I2C LCD as display. Bill
