Panel: Technology Resiliency in Urban Environments, Showcasing How Seeed Works with our Partners and Clients to Build Resilient Cities

At the heart of this summit, Seeed Studio will be contributing to the “Technology Resiliency in Urban Environments” panel. Our representative, Violet Su (Business Development Manager), will discuss two vital topics to address urban challenges with 2 case studies from our partners and clients:
1. Urban Flooding Monitoring Solution
In rainy seasons, urban lowlands are prone to flooding, which can lead to severe damage without timely prevention and intervention. We will present a case study demonstrating how our SenseCAP for LoRaWAN® weather and environmental monitoring station, equipped with SenseCAP S1000 compact weather sensors, Liquid Level Sensors, and SenseCAP S2100 Data Loggers, can monitor critical parameters such as rainfall and water levels. This solution ensures early flood detection and risk mitigation.
2. Research on Drainage Formation
To develop a new hydrological modeling approach, it’s essential to understand drainage networks and their formation. Seeed Studio’s environmental monitoring solution enabled by LoRaWAN® will be showcased. Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate employs SenseCAP Gateways and S2104 sensors to monitor soil moisture at 10-minute intervals and calculate water levels. This approach offers an easy, cost-effective, and robust solution for studying drainage network formation in various urban environments.

A computer vision system designed for predictive maintenance that detects and localizes surface cracks in concrete structures. The reTerminal serves as the core hardware platform, providing processing power and user interaction interfaces.

Seeed Studio Products Used: Wio Terminal, Grove – Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor, Grove – Temperature & Humidity Sensor (SHT40), Grove – Air Quality Sensor v1.3, Grove – 4-Channel SPDT Relay, Grove – MOSFET for Arduino
This project focuses on creating a DIY climate simulator for growing plants under various weather conditions. The Wio Terminal plays a pivotal role as the main controller, connecting various sensors and actuators. Other Seeed Studio products, such as the Grove sensors and relays, help automate the system for optimal plant growth.

This project guides the creation of a cellular-based predictive maintenance monitoring device. The Wio Terminal plays a key role in data collection, processing, and alerting stages, facilitating the detection of anomalies.

Seeed Studio Product Used: Xiao Ble Sense
This project integrates the Xiao Ble Sense to collect sound data and classify sound anomalies in elevators. Its advanced features, including Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC module, ensure the project’s success.
