Description

The Grove - 6-Axis Accelerometer&Gyroscope is a 6 DoF(degrees of freedom) High-performance Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for the detection of movements and rotations in 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF). This sensor is based on BOSCH BMI088, which is a high-performance IMU with high vibration suppression. The 6-axis sensor combines a 16-bit triaxial gyroscope and a 16-bit triaxial accelerometer.

BMI088 is designed to meet all requirements for high performance consumer applications in harsh vibration environments such as those encountered in drones and robotics applications. The IMU is designed to effectively suppress vibrations above a few hundred Hz that could occasionally occur due to resonances on the pcb or the structure of the total system.

The sensor has an extended measurement range of up to ±24g to avoid signal clipping under strong signal exposure. To increase flexibility, both gyroscope and accelerometer can not only be operated individually, but tied together for data synchronization purposes. The BMI088 has an excellent temperature behavior with an outstanding low temperature coefficient of the offset (TCO) and temperature coefficient of the sensitivity (TCS).
