PRODUCT DETAILS

This product is DISCONTINUED, you can choose the HiKey 960 Development Board as an alternative.

The HiKey board was the first board to be certified 96Boards Consumer Edition compatible. This is a new version in 2GB variants from LeMaker. The board is based around the HiSilicon Kirin 6220 eight-core ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit SoC running at 1.2GHz and delivering over 10,000 Dhrystone VAX MIPS total performance. The SoC also delivers high performance 3D graphics support with its ARM Mali 450-MP4 GPU.

800MHz LPDDR3 DRAM, 8GB eMMC Flash Storage and the standard 96Boards microSD v3.0 socket provide high performance. Flexible storage options and connectivity are available through 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, three high speed USB 2.0 ports (1 OTG), an HDMI 1.3 1080p video output with audio, and Maker, DSI display and CSI camera interfaces. The board is the standard 96Boards credit-card form factor powered by an 8-18V DC 2A power supply.

Great board with 96boards standard connectors The A53 is a slow processor, but it's very efficient. The moment a Linux-ready 96boards SBC comes out with a faster processor I will likely replace this. But for now, it's better than the alternatives.

One of the better SBCs. I purchased two of these for a review on my YouTube channel, (MickMake).
I found the HiKey to run a lot cooler than comparable 8 core SBCs, although support for the latest Linux kernel was dubious.
The production quality of the board was excellent, and provides a vast array of options for the Maker, but for some the 2mm pitch GPIO header might be annoying.

Fast shipping, great service Free shipping is fast to US. Price is better than 1GB version with shipping from other vendors. Great purchasing experience.
We had used DB-410c 96boards for our development.
When we need to work on TrustZone, this HiKey board is the choice. Great thing about 96boards is our interface board for DB-410c also works for HiKey board.
One minor thing about HiKey board is I wish it uses switch like DB-410c instead of jumpers to set different modes.
