This is a radar detection module based on the millimeter-wave doppler radar system for human motion and detection. It is based on the SYH24A1 IC which is a 24GHz radar transceiver. This comes in a compact package and runs on very low power, providing high-precision measurements.

The high frequency of this module allows for high penetration though objects and therefore this module does not need to be exposed outside when deploying, but rather behind an object. This, in turn, is extremely useful in security systems. Also, this is able to operate in harsh weather conditions such as high temperatures, dust, and rain.
Doppler radar works by sending a beam of electromagnetic radiation waves from the transmitter (TX Antenna) and receiving them through the receiver (RX Antenna) and measuring amplitude and position of an object’s movement.
After analysis by a special algorithm, the human body's breathing, movement, number of people, distance, direction, and other information can be obtained.
The area that the radar module measures human activity is within about 200 square meters. The maximum sensing distance for object movement is less than 20 meters and the measurement breathing distance is within 5 meters. The radar antenna has a measurement range of 80 ° horizontally and 30 ° vertically. It is a product that can measure different distances through different algorithms.
