The ReSpeaker Mic Array can be stacked (connected) right onto the top of ReSpeaker Core to significantly improve the voice interaction experience. It is developed based on the XVSM-2000 Smart Microphone from XMOS. The board integrates 7 PDM microphones to help enhance ReSpeaker's acoustic DSP performance to a much higher level. With the Mic Array attached onto the top of the ReSpeaker Core, ReSpeaker is now able to:

Update. Microphones are working on Windows 10. I have plugged them on Android using the OTG cable. I can hear the sound through the plug but the microphones do not transmit the sound. Is there any solution to this issue? Please advisehttps://ibb.co/jeAjtQ

How? It has invalid setup file on Windows. It can't be setup on Windows 8+. Really suck!!! No reply from these developers/founders/programmers. It should have a step by step how to setup on Linux /Windows...

The mic array must work with ReSpeaker Core or can it work individually as a microphone?

Does that mean I could connect it via the usb interface to an raspberry pi directly, for example? I guess the necessary drivers are not (yet) released? Will there be drivers for the mic array alone?

According to github page the firmware version 0x82 (raw) supports upto 32KHz 8 channel audio recording. I tried the 8 channel recording using Audacity (WASAPI) but the maximum sampling rate I could get was 8 KHz which was lower than that supported by earlier firmware. Further the node-HID tool does not seem to work with the new firmware. What can be done in this regard? How do I get higher sampling rate.

You can use pyaudio to 8 channel audio. On windows, you need the special pyaudio from http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/#pyaudio

Thanks for the prompt reply, I was using this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/26391055/multichannel-pyaudio-with-asio-support with pyaudio as you said but I am still getting only frequencies upto 4 KHz i.e. sampling rate of 8KHz. What can be done?

Will the mic output the raw sound source position? What other comms are available to the board - I2C, SPI etc?

if you look at wiki https://github.com/respeaker/get_started_with_respeaker/wiki/Mic-Array at the protocol excel file, it has a voice angle 0-350 value. I assume I2C or Serial will be present (in addition to usb)
