ReSpeaker USB Mic Array

The order from seed studio was flawless as usual. Shipping times and tracking was good, even tho the email notifications lacked the infos I had to login to my seed studio account.

To the ReSpeaker USB Mic Array. It took some time and several tries on different computers (Windows / Ubuntu) to update the firmware and get the python scripts going, to adjust the filtering of the microphone input. The filtering itself is buggy to say the least. It just does not work like the manufacturer videos of the chip want to suggest (Echo, no working echo protection, really very bad audio output etc.). I encountered that on products using the same chip (from Anker or Ankerworks).

On linux you could not set the same device for input AND output of audio.

When I asked seed studio to get into that and test it, they told me they would. And that was the last thing I ever heard of it. They probably tested it and decided it would be best not to mention that ever again and just forget it.

Great Device with a good documentation and great sound quality.
But its a bit pricey

Works with raspberry pi

It works well at picking up prominent sounds.
