NVIDIA has officially announced to phase out the entire Jetson Xavier family, including Jetson Xavier NX, Jetson AGX Xavier, and Jetson TX2i. Therefore all Seeed reComputer J20 products will be discontinued We recommend customers migrating to NVIDIA Orin Nano and NVIDIA Orin NX platforms.
Migration Path: Jetson Orin Nano 8GB or Orin NX 8GB
For Xavier NX 8GB users, we recommend migrating to Jetson Orin Nano 8GB (same power and cost class) or Jetson Orin NX 8GB (a significant performance step up). Both modules have the same memory size while bringing boost in performance. Both modules are active, mainstream products with JetPack 6 and Jetpack 7 support and ongoing updates, keeping your platform software-supported for years to come.
For Xavier NX 16GB users, we recommend migrating to Jetson Orin NX 16GB, which will be a significant upgrade from Xavier NX 16GB in terms of AI performance, while featuring same memory capacity (16GB).

Why Migration Is Easier Than You Think
Shared software baseline: Xavier NX and the Orin family share the JetPack 5 baseline. Swap in the Orin module, validate your hardware on your existing JetPack 5 environment, then move to JetPack 6 when you are ready. It is a staged migration, not a cold-start rewrite.
Hardware compatibility: Seeed reComputer Orin products bring almost identical IO’s and peripherals as Xavier products. If you choose Orin Nano, confirm carrier board compatibility with your supplier. In terms of performance, Orin NX 8GB delivers roughly 5.5x the AI compute of Xavier NX, while Orin Nano 8GB triples it — with better energy efficiency.
A platform that keeps evolving: JetPack 7 brings CUDA 13.2, TensorRT 10.16, and Ubuntu 24.04, with further enhancements such as Super Mode, agentic skills and memory optimization — none of which will ever reach the Xavier platform.
