How Meshtastic Works: LoRa Mesh Networking Explained
1. What is Meshtastic? (LoRa Long-Range Mesh Network)
Meshtastic is a LoRa-based wireless mesh network that works without cellular signal. Every device acts as sender, receiver, and repeater, forwarding messages to nearby nodes to extend range. Ideal for outdoor activities, emergency comms, and large events. Supports real-time GPS location sharing across the mesh.
2. How to Set Up a Meshtastic Node
Flash compatible hardware (e.g., T1000-E or XIAO ESP3253) and power on. No central server; messages route dynamically through available nodes. Supports up to 100 nodes concurrently. Decentralized, low-power, and long-range.
3. Meshtastic Resources from Seeed Studio
Start from Seeed documentation, product notes, and the official Meshtastic project resources to build and maintain your mesh network.

Meshtastic Use Cases: Outdoor, Emergency & Event Communication
Meshtastic nodes form a mesh network. Each device sends and forwards messages without cellular coverage. Ideal for emergencies, remote outdoors, crowded events, and areas with no reliable network.
