Line finder is designed for line following robotic. It consists two parts - an IR emitting LED and an IR sensitive phototransistor. It can output digital signal to a microcontroller so the robot can reliably follow a black line on a white background, or vice versa.

I think you have the pin number wrong on the schematic in the wiki page. Pin 1 is GND and Pin 4 is Sig.

Hi,the schematic is right,maybe you have thought that there are some relationship between number pin,in fact,the number of pin is just a identifier of chip,but there have no connection.
