Keepa is a social Distancing habit trainer aiming to help children build the awareness of keeping a safe social distance - in a more enjoyable way! Keepa can detect people within 2m (about 6 feet), and gives the user a nudge, reminding him/her to keep a safe social distance.
Keepa Social Distancing trainer is integrated with 3 alert modes and comes with a wrist strap and lanyard for ease of use. kids can switch different alert modes and decide how to wear it as they like, making it more like a cute toy watch that is appealing to kids than a common alarm.
Why children should build awareness of keeping a safe social distance?
CDC has issued a number of guidelines for the public to protect themselves and others from the spread of diseases, one main suggestion is "stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people who are not from your household in both indoor and outdoor spaces."
Why? When someone coughs, sneezes, or speaks they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain viruses. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets or even virus if the person has the disease.
Ultrasonic Distance Detection
With an ultrasonic sensor, Keepa can detect people within 2m (which can be also toggled to 1m) to the front with a detection angle of ±15 degrees. Once a person is detected within that range, Keepa will display warning lights, emit a sound or vibrate to alert the user. The default safe distance is set to 2m, but this can be toggled to 1m by holding the Mode Button for about 5s.
Multiple Alert Modes
The built-in RGB LEDs, buzzer, and vibration motor enable Keepa to issue different alerts that are most suited to the situation in which users wish to maintain a safe social distance. The default warning method is RGB LEDs displaying RED light when someone is within the defined safe social distance.
The alert modes can be toggled between displaying red warning lights, emitting a buzzer warning sound, and vibration by pressing the Mode Button.
Multiple ways to wear Keepa
Keepa comes with a wrist strap and lanyard for ease of use. You can wear it on your wrist, hang it on your neck or attach it to a schoolbag.
Rechargeable Li-ion Battery
Keepa comes with a rechargeable 410mAh li-ion battery, which enables standby operation of up to 10 hours or more (light warning mode). Users can use a micro-USB cable for charging.
