Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green
SeeedStudio BeagleBone Green (BBG) is a joint effort by BeagleBoard.org and Seeed Studio. BBG is based on the open-source hardware design of BeagleBone Black and developed into the differentiated version. There are on-board two Grove connectors, making it easier to connect to the large family of Grove sensors for a quick and a wider range of prototyping. The on-board HDMI is removed to make room for Grove connectors.

Ever since the company funded, we are continuously creating our own open platform to differentiate from the existing one such as Seeeduino vs Arduino. This time we would like to introduce a new member of those unique products----Seeed Studio Beaglebone® Green.

Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green is a joint effort between BeagleBone.org® and Seeed Studio, and it is based on the open-source hardware design of BeagleBone® Black.
Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green is a low-cost option that provides the compact footprint, numerous interfaces, and expandability of BeagleBone® Black while extending the development environment with on-board Grove connectors which work with the Seeed Grove ecosystem. Furthermore, Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green is fully compatible with BeagleBone® Black capes.
Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green comes with a Debian image installed on the on-board 4GB 8-bit eMMC flash storage. You can connect the board to a 5V power supply or the USB port of your PC to easily power it up.
The main change is replacing the HDMI interface with 2 Grove connectors. Grove is a great invention by Seeed, it is a modular standardized connector prototyping system by which you are able to build applications without soldering and jump wires.
With the rapid development of the grove system, more and more sensors, actuators, displays are joining the grove family, all of them are integrated with the standard Grove connector so that you can connect the Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green to them with a simple cable. So far we have produced more than 30 Groves that work well with Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green, and the number is increasing. Apart from that, we also changed the 5V barrel to be a micro USB host, so that you can power the board more conveniently.

Fully compatible with BeagleBone® Black
Despite the changes we made, Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green is still fully compatible with BeagleBone® Black and applied with all the BeagleBone® Black capes. Even though Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green has all these advantages, we did not increase the price, actually, the price of Seeed Studio BeagleBone® Green is much cheaper, it may be the most low-cost BeagleBone® in history. What we want is to provide a BeagleBone® that is not only more powerful and easy-to-use but also reachable to most people. Nice Beaglebone The Seeed version of beaglebone is a fine embedded computer for the applicationis that do not need video output and at the same time makes it easy to use the groove series of sensors.
