Seeed Fusion Service Increases Dispatch Efficiency with Warehouse Operations Upgrade
For the past few months, Seeed Fusion has been working with couriers to introduce a new system to facilitate warehousing operations.
Previously labor intensive, the new system automates a number of steps that both cuts the processing time per order and reduces instances of human error considerably.
Compared to previous operations, the processing time for registering the goods have seen a 45% reduction. This time includes the checking of invoices, counting, and the completion of a form that would have otherwise been manually filled – a potential source of human error. With a new PDA device and Bluetooth enabled label printer, workers only need to scan the packaging barcode to register the parcel and print labels.

For multiple orders in one shipment, the software records logged orders, lets the user know when all orders are complete and prints the shipping label.
For DHL parcels, the process is also paperless. Consignment data is now logged in the database and retrievable from a simple barcode on a smaller label.
Savings per year:
- 400 rolls of labels and 150 rolls of tape per packaging station
- 400 work hours per person
- Paper for DHL orders (typically 2 A4 sheets and one sheet of carbon copy paper per parcel) eliminated
This move is one of many improvements Seeed Fusion is working on to fulfill the needs of its customers’ and improve the service on the whole. It is our hope that these actions will make a strong positive impact on user experience in the long term.
