Just what you wanted for Xmas – Introducing the New Shenzhen Open Parts Library with Over 10,000 Parts
We are not exaggerating our enthusiasm when we say we are excited to bring you this new addition to the Fusion family. We know that an expansion of the OPL is always welcome, and we’ve promised our loyal followers of upgrades for much too long. Now we bring you a revolutionary new OPL, the Shenzhen Open Parts library!
Ever since Seeed OPL V1 was first launched, we’ve helplessly listened to the anguish of disappointed customers as they try to utilize the OPL, only to find themselves limited by the narrow selection. Introduced as the answer to long procurement times for the Seeed Fusion turnkey PCB assembly service, the Seeed OPL was too small to realize its purpose.
Over the years we’ve tried various solutions to overcome this obstacle, only to make marginal improvements. In the last update, the OPL numbered at 800+ components that were carried in Seeed’s own warehouse. But there is only so much so we can maintain.
Then it hit us.
based in Shenzhen, China,
The Silicon Valley of Hardware,
were importing components from America, Europe, etc.
that were manufactured in China.
The answer was on our doorstep. Somehow, we had forgotten exactly why Seeed HQ is based in this manufacturing hub. And the outcome of our facepalm moment is the Shenzhen OPL.
Like the Seeed OPL, the Shenzhen OPL (or SZOPL pronounced “ss-zop-ple” perhaps) helps enable accelerated PCB assembly from just 7 working days while cutting component costs. But that is where similarities end because the components in the SZOPL are nowhere to be found in Seeed’s warehouse. We’ve extended our partnership with the HuaQiang Group (of the famous HuaQiangBei electronics markets) to integrate their stock into our PCBA service. These parts can be ordered in days rather than weeks and come closer if not directly from the manufacturing source.
Components procurement takes up much of the time for turnkey PCB assembly
As the Silicon Valley of Hardware’s largest components supplier, HuaQiang is trusted by millions of customers around the globe and nurtures long-term partnerships with local factories and international distributors including DigiKey, Mouser, Texas Instruments, NXP, and Microchip. So, you need not worry about knock-off or re-used components.
By integrating their platform into our PCBA OPLs, we are able to offer a much larger range of components, growing it by over ten times. But this introduction is just the beginning. Over the coming year, we hope to expand it to many tens of thousands more, so that just about every PCBA consignment can be completed in little over 7 working days.
Choose from over 6000 resistors and capacitors, 500 ICs, 1300 connectors and much more in the new Shenzhen OPL. Use it with favorites in the original Seeed OPL or, if you absolutely must have a special part imported, you can still use OPL components to cut the cost of other components. Have a browse here.
The highlight to many visitors to Shenzhen are the electronics markets, but now we are bringing the markets to you (without the impending tariffs). We hope that more and more of you will find the new OPL indispensable in your journey, whether it be prototyping, product development or just for hobbyist purposes; everyone can take advantage of the upgraded OPL.
Enjoy, and we’d love to hear your feedback! Really, it’d make our day.

Is the Excel spreadsheet still available with the complete list of parts?
Thank you for your interest in the OPL and your suggestion, it is not currently available since it is constantly being updated but we will try to arrange a home for it.
The github Kicad OPL does not have the new Shenzen components. Can you update it so that we can really use the components in our PCBA, please?
Stay tuned! We will be releasing a big update in the next few weeks!
This is great! I think it’s a good idea to collect thousands of parts for Christmas.
