#New product released# Grove – Qwiic Hub, IIC hub compatible with Qwiic/STEMMA QT

This week we released a new product Grove – Qwiic Hub, which allows you to either use Qwiic/STEMMA QT modules on Grove controller or use Grove modules on Qwiic/STEMMA QT controller. You can cascade connect more than one Qwiic/STEMMA QT and Grove modules in one I2C bus with Grove – Qwiic Hub.

I2C Grove

Grove makes it easier to connect, experiment, and simplify the prototyping process. No jumpers or soldering required. We have developed more than 300 Grove modules, covering a wide range of applications that can fulfill a variety of needs.

Long term readers of this blog know that our favourite devices are I2C Grove sensors. There are many types of I2C Grove sensors available. Most are 5V/3.3V devices. As the standard interface of all Grove modules, I2C Grove interface follows universal 4 pin JST PH 2.0mm standard.

To learn more about Grove: What does Grove Mean? Why Grove?

What is Qwiic/ STEMMA QT ?

Differ from our Grove, Sparkfun’s Qwiic and Adafruit’s  STEMMA QT are smaller 1.0mm pitch connectors, using 4 pin JST SH 1.0mm connector and cable. They are for I2C use only. Regardless of the name difference, Qwiic/ STEMMA QT are the same interface.

Why Grove – Qwiic Hub?

To better support different types of interface systems, we provide Grove – Qwiic Hub, which enables you easily connect the I2C devices with Grove/Qwiic/STEMMA QT interface, get the best use of your devices/controller of different interfaces.

Before the released of Grove – Qwiic Hub, you could connect Grove and Qwiic together with a Cable Adapter as Sparkfun has provided:

It is convinient and cost-effective, but you could not suit modules/controller with different voltage since the cable could not have the voltage shifting function, and you will find difficulties when you want to cascade connect two or more Grove modules to controller with Qwiic/ STEMMA QT interface.

Grove – Qwiic Hub provides a perfect solution to this problem

Features of Grove – Qwiic Hub

  • Interaction connector of Grove interface and Qwiic/STEMMA QT interface
  • Cascade connect more than one Qwiic/STEMMA QT and Grove modules in one I2C bus
  • Built-in level shifting function that allows 3.3V/5V supply voltage

Application Scenario

Use Qwiic modules on Grove controller

Use STEMMA QT modules on Grove controller

Use Grove modules on Qwiic controller

Use Grove modules on STEMMA QT controller

Cascade onnect more than one Qwiic/STEMMA QT and Grove modules

If you have a lot of modules and controllers of Grove/Qwiic/STEMMA QT interface, Grove – Qwiic Hub would be the perfect product you could have to get the best use of them!

Last but not least, the price of Grove – Qwiic Hub is only $1.9/pcs! Don’t wait any more, and go to the Seeed Bazaar to bring it home now!
